A Safety Alert is an information sheet that discusses a particular safety hazard and offers potential solutions to that hazard.

The five Safety Alerts issued on March 12, 2013, were:

  • Is Your Aircraft Talking to You? Listen!
  • Reduce Visual References Require Vigilance
  • Avoid Aerodynamic Stalls at Low Altitude
  • Mechanics: Manage Risks to Ensure Safety
  • Pilots: Manage Risks to Ensure Safety

The NTSC is creating five short videos, one on each new Safety Alert, which will be released this spring. The videos will feature air safety investigators sharing their experiences and observations of accident investigations and advice on how pilots and mechanics can avoid making devastating mistakes.

All Safety Alerts issued since 2004 are available at http://go.usa.gov/2BeA.
